Set in the heart of the Adirondack Park, the Lake Placid Central School District is a wonderful, safe place to learn. The knowledge you acquire and the friends you make may last a lifetime. 

Lake Placid CSD 69th Winter Carnival 2012 is right around the corner.  Winter Carnival week is February 9th through February 11th. This year's theme is The Wild, Wild West! So do not be left out in the cold--get out your 10 gallon hat, start polishing your stirrups, and fancy up your horse--let the Carnival begin!

Save the date and join us for the Lake Placid Middle High School Spring Musical, GREASE, in March. The dates are March 22, 23, and 24, 2012. 

Over the holiday break, our student data system, Powerschool, was upgraded. This change did result in a new web address for the parent log in page and a new address for the Lake Placid Central School District web address.  The district page can be reached via www.lakeplacidcsd.net or

All Quarter 2 and Semester 1 classes end on Friday, January 27, 2012. Now is the time to get in gear and make up any missing assignments, lessons, or classes! Life (and school) moves fast!

School Loop issues.--Please be advised that some our teachers are experiencing difficulty in posting updated information and assignments to their  websites.  The district is having some problems with the School Loop software that maintains our websites and are working on solving the issues.  Please feel free to either email or phone your child's teacher if you have any questions or need any information.              STUDENTS OF THE MONTH

Each month during the school year, faculty and staff select four students for Student of the Month-two high school and two middle school level students.  Students are chosen based on one or more of the criteria as follows:  demonstrates exemplary leadership skills, has shown great improvement in academics and attitude, good attendance, respect to peers and adults, shows compassion, displays honesty, and/or makes a contribution to the community or school.  Congratulations--we are proud of you!
