It's coming! 69th Winter Carnival 2012Lake Placid CSD 69th Winter Carnival 2012 is right around the corner. Winter Carnival week is February 9th through February 11th. This year's theme is The Wild, Wild West! So do not be left out in the cold--get out your 10 gallon hat, start polishing your stirrups, and fancy up your horse--let the Carnival begin! GREASE is the word! Save the date.Save the date and join us for the Lake Placid Middle High School Spring Musical, GREASE, in March. The dates are March 22, 23, and 24, 2012. New Web Address for Parent Log in for Powerschool!Over the holiday break, our student data system, Powerschool, was upgraded. This change did result in a new web address for the parent log in page and a new address for the Lake Placid Central School District web address. The district page can be reached via www.lakeplacidcsd.net or http://lpds-ny.schoolloop.com/. To reach the parent log in page, your previous bookmark may no longer be accurate. You may have to enter http://lpscd.powerschool.com/public. The parent log in can also be reached from a link on the district's main page: www.lakeplacidcsd.net End of Semester One is Approaching Fast!All Quarter 2 and Semester 1 classes end on Friday, January 27, 2012. The district is having some problems with the School Loop software that maintains our websites and are working on solving the issues. Middle and High School Student of the MonthJANUARY STUDENTS OF THE MONTH Each month during the school year, faculty and staff select four students for Student of the Month-two high school and two middle school level students. Students are chosen based on one or more of the criteria as follows: demonstrates exemplary leadership skills, has shown great improvement in academics and attitude, good attendance, respect to peers and adults, shows compassion, displays honesty, and/or makes a contribution to the community or school.
